The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) has announced the official appointment of Mukhtorkhon Tashkhudjaev, the President of National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, as one of its Vice Presidents for the next four years.
Tashkhudjaev will represent the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Para Games Organizing Committee on the APC Executive Board.
The appointment has come after the new amendments to APC Constitution during its General Assembly, which said a representative of the future host country for the Asian Youth Para Games will join the APC Executive Board as Vice President.
This means that a representative from NPC Uzbekistan will join the APC Board following the decision last month to appoint Tashkent, Uzbekistan as hosts for the next Asian Youth Para Games in 2025.
Congratulating Tashkhudjaev on his appointment, APC President Majid Rashed said: “We are delighted to welcome you onboard for next 4 years and are looking forward to working closely with you and the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Para Games Organizing Committee to ensure smooth preparations and successful delivery of the Games. Under your leadership, Uzbekistan has shown its commitment to parasport and I wish you all the very best for your new role in APC.”
During the closing ceremony of the recently-concluded Bahrain 2021 Asian Youth Para Games, the APC flag was handed over to Tashkhudjaev.
The Games are expected to take place in late September/early October 2025 in Tashkent which also means that for the first time they will be held in the same city and same venues as the Asian Youth Games.
