The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) has announced that the result of Iranian Powerlifter Mr. Noori Farzin in Men’s 72kg Powerlifting at the Dubai 2017 Asian Youth Para Games was disqualified for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.
Noori Farzin returned an adverse analytical finding for 19-Norandrosterone of exogenous origin in his urine sample provided on 12 December 2017 during the Dubai 2017 Asian Youth Para Games.
19-Norandrosterone of exogenous origin is included on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2017 Prohibited List under the Anabolic Agents category and is consequently prohibited under the IPC Anti-Doping Code and APC Anti-Doping Rules.
Noori Farzin waived his right to a hearing and accepted that he had committed an Anti-Doping Role Violation.
In accordance with the APC Anti-Doping Rules, the result of Noori Farzin in Powerlifting Men’s 72kg in Dubai 2017 Asian Youth Para Games was disqualified with all the resulting consequences including forfeiture of the silver medal.
