Nagoya hosts APC for  the 3rd 2026 Asian Para Games Coordination Commission Meeting: A key milestone toward the Asian Para Games

From May 19 to 21, the city of Nagoya hosted the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) for the the 3rd Coordination Commission Meeting ahead of the 2026  the Asian Paralympic Games

Held at the Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya, the meeting reviewed every detail of the event from operational logistics to the athlete experience. The opening session featured remarks from AINAGOC President Hideaki Ohmura, APC President H.E. Majid Rashed, and other key figures. The speeches highlighted a shared commitment to delivering inclusive and well-organized Games.

The first day included key presentations on general planning, sports programs, media and broadcasting, ceremonies, volunteer coordination, protocol, and IT services. Delegates also visited essential venues, such as Hotel Mielparque, which will house athletes, and the Nagoya City General Gymnasium, the competition venue for Para swimming.

Day two focused on technical and athlete-centered topics such as accommodation, medical and anti-doping services, nutrition, transportation, logistics, security, and accreditation. Updates were also provided on local initiatives by Aichi and Nagoya, reaffirming the host city’s deep engagement with the Games’ mission and values.

On Wednesday, May 21, functional group meetings were held between AINAGOC and APC teams to address final coordination efforts across security, accreditation, logistics, communications, and more.

At the end of the meeting, APC President Majid Rashed thanked the Organising Committee for hosting the APC delegation and said; “As ever, you have made us feel very welcome and we know that when the athletes arrive in just over 500 days time, they will get the same welcome and feel as happy to be here as we have been. We are leaving feeling pleased with the progress since our last meeting. The venues that we have seen on this visit are impressive, the plans that we have heard are well formed and we are confident that the team here are very capable of overcoming any remaining challenges.”
