The preparation for the Chefs de Mission Seminar for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games has begun. On 22 October 2021, Liu Xin, Vice President of the Games Organising Committee (HAPGOC) and Mayor of Hangzhou, issued an official invitation to National Paralympic Committees in Asia, inviting them to take part in the CDM, held for leaders of NPC delegations.
Due to travel restrictions in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seminar will be held online over two days, from 18 and 19 November 2021.
The Chefs de Mission Seminar is a milestone event in the journey to the 4th Asian Para Games. The APC’s flagship event will take place in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province in eastern China, from 9-15 October 2022.
During the Seminar, Asia’s NPCs will be given information on the host city of Hangzhou, as well as the Organising Committee’s policies and procedures for the Games.
The Seminar will also be an opportunity for the committee to gain a better understanding of the needs of Para Games athletes, team officials and other Games participants, which will help ensure a satisfying Games experience for all.
The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) will also take part at the CDM, with President Majid Rashed to share a video message on the opening day.
In the letter sent out to NPCs, HAPGOC also included the CDM Seminar schedule, together with a Seminar guide. NPCs are welcome to log on to the Hangzhou Asian Para Games extranet, Hangzhou 2022 NPCnet, for more information.
Mr. Xin concluded his letter by thanking participating NPCs for their continued support of Hangzhou 2022, and saying that HAPGOC is confident that, through combined effort, “the 4th Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2022 will be held as scheduled and be a great success”. He then officially invited all Asian Para Games participants to Hangzhou in 2022.
