2014 INCHEON ASIAN PARA GAMES: INCHEON & APC INK DEAL

INCHEON, Korea, Sept 20 – Host City of the 2014 Asian Para Games, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) here, signaling the city preparedness to host Asia’s biggest event for para athletes.

The significant ceremony took place on Sept 20 at the Incheon Mayor’s reception room in Incheon.

City Mayor Song Young-Gill signed the MoU on behalf of Incheon City while Dato Zainal Abu Zarin inked the deal on behalf of APC.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Korean Paralympic Committee (KPC) President Mr. Yoon Suk Yong, APC Secretary-General Ms. Malini, APC Para Games Committee Chairman Mr. Jia Yong, APC Sports and Development Committee Chairman Billy Lee and APC Director of Events and Protocol, Bob Amin.

Following the collaboration, both parties hope to create more awareness, promotion interest and further develop marketing interest among sponsors on the 2014 Games.

Following the end the FESPIC Games and the setting up of Asian Paralympic Council in 2006, the first Asian Para Games was mooted successfully held in Guangzhou, China, which receive rave reviews and became benchmark for future Asian hosts.

This ceremony signals yet another significant milestone for APC as we push forward to achieve the Asian Paralympic 2020 vision. It also shows Incheon and KPC’s commitment in ensuring that the Games live up to its billings come 2014 said Dato Zainal.

The official signing ceremony between Incheon City and APC is expected to be held on 15th November 2012.
