Uzbekistan Leads Para Athletics Medal Standings at Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games

The Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games featured some of the best young para-athletes, bringing together players from various countries to test their talent, strength, and commitment. Para athletics at the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games featured athletes who not only competed for medals, but also showcased months and years of effort, discipline, and resilience. 

Uzbekistan surpassed all other participating nations, finishing at the top in the medal list. Adding a totoal of 71 medals to their medal tally, including 37 gold, 20 silver and 14 bronze, the central asian country demonstrated strong perfomance from many athletes. 


Iran also delivered a successful performance, winning 41 medals, 14 of which were gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze. Their players displayed dedication and determination throughout the competition, resulting in one of the games’ strongest overall performances.

India had a magnificent performance, achieving 28 medals, including 10 gold, 7 silver and 11 bronze. The results showed incredible talent and determination of the country’s para-athletes, who competed with focus and resilience across many competitions, making a powerful statement on the international level.

Reflecting on their success, two of India’s talented athletes expressed their joy and thanks. Rakshith Hosamagara Somashikara, 19 years old, who won gold in T42-47 high jump, stated, 

“This is my first international medal; so, it is very important to me. I would want to dedicate this award to my parents.” 

Meanwhile, Bhuvi Agrawal, 18 years old, who won gold in the long jump, shotput, and T20 400 metres, said,

“I am very happy that I won 3 gold medals, and I am grateful for the support of my coach and family.”


Thailand also made its mark in para-athletics, winning 21 medals, 9 of them were gold and silver each along with 3 were silver.

Host nation, United Arab Emirates had a happy moment at home soil, winning 9 medals in total, including 3 gold medals, thanks to the local crowd’s enthusiasm.



“I am very happy. This medal is very valuable to me, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my parents, coach, and everyone around me,” said Nahyan Alazeezi , 16 year old Emirati boy, looking back at his gold-medal performance in F32-34 shot put.

Japan completed with a total of 5 medals, including 2 gold medals, contributing to the competitive diversity of para-athletics events.

Para-athletics at the Dubai 2025 Asian Youth Para Games was more than just para-athletics. It was a reflection of athletes pushing themselves to their limits, proudly representing their countries, and proving that determination and belief can transform challenges into accomplishments on an international scale.
