The Technical Delegates Seminar for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games was successfully held, marking an important milestone in the lead-up and further strengthening coordination across all sport operations as preparations continue to build momentum toward the 5th Asian Para Games.
Hosted by the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games Organising Committee, the online seminar brought together more than 140 participants, including 20 Technical Delegates, representatives from International and Asian Federations, the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), as well as AINAGOC executives and staff, underscoring the collective commitment to delivering a technically outstanding Games.
Participants received comprehensive updates on the sport programme, competition schedule, sport entries, classification processes, Games-time services and accommodation for athletes and officials to name a few.
In his opening remarks, APC Chief Executive Officer Tarek Souei highlighted the importance of early coordination and clear operational frameworks as planning enters a more advanced phase. Drawing on his own experience as a Technical Delegate, he emphasised the complexity and responsibility of the role.
“Having served for many years as a Technical Delegate myself, I have a deep appreciation for the responsibility you carry. Technical Delegates are the quiet guardians of quality and fairness — the calm, analytical minds behind complex operations. You are the professionals who notice the details others might miss and consistently find practical solutions that benefit both athletes and Organising Committees,” Souei said.
APC President Majid Rashed also underlined the central role of Technical Delegates in delivering successful multi-sport events.
“As we look ahead to Aichi-Nagoya 2026, today’s seminar represents an important step towards alignment, collaboration and shared understanding. Our collective ambition is clear: to deliver Games that are technically outstanding, athlete-centred, and reflective of the values of excellence, respect and inclusion that define the Paralympic Movement.
“Technical Delegates play a vital role in the successful delivery of the Games. I sincerely thank each of you for your continued dedication and service. Your expertise and commitment are essential to delivering Games that athletes can trust and take pride in,” he added.
The seminar concluded with interactive discussions and sport-specific clarifications, reinforcing the shared commitment to delivering a technically outstanding and athlete-centred edition of the Asian Para Games. The online seminar also signalled the start of the final phase of preparations, as AINAGOC, APC, Technical Delegates and International Federations intensify their collaboration on the road to Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
