This event will take place at 20:00 local time, the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées and will be directed by Thomas Jolly, who commented on the official website of the Paralympic Games that the ceremony will showcase the Paralympic athletes and the values they embody, who will give a magnificent source of inspiration and will have performances never seen before.
In addition, it is assured that it will be a show that will unite 65 thousand spectators and 300 million viewers from all over the world around the unique spirit that the games represent.
“This ceremony in the heart of the city is a strong symbol that illustrates our ambition to capitalize on our country hosting the first Paralympic Games in its history to place the inclusion of people with impairment at the heart of our society,” said Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024, to Olympics.com
Those privileged to carry the flags representing their delegations from Asia will see medalist Bhagyashri Jadhav from India, competitor in Para athletics. Representing the Philippines, the flag bearer will be swimmer Ernie Gawilan, who was the first athlete to win gold for his delegation in Asia Para Games. For Bangladesh, Joma Akter, who claimed the first ever Paralympic quota for the nation in the final qualifier in Dubai.
