Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) President Majid Rashed visited the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Asian Para Games Museum, highlighting the enduring legacy of one of the most memorable editions of the Asian Para Games.
The visit came at the invitation of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), reflecting the strong partnership between the APC and China’s Para sport movement in promoting inclusion and sporting excellence across Asia.
The Museum, dedicated to both the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games, preserves this extraordinary legacy. It houses an extensive collection of memorabilia, including medals, torches, mascots, uniforms from the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, trophies from National Paralympic Committees, and photographs that capture the defining moments of the Games. Open to the public, the Museum stands as a tribute to the athletes, volunteers, and organizers who made Hangzhou 2022 a historic celebration of humanity and resilience.

During his visit, Mr. Rashed expressed his admiration for the exhibition, calling it “a remarkable legacy of the Games that will continue to inspire the people of Hangzhou and many young athletes across Asia.”
He added: “This Museum is not just a collection of memories; it is a living symbol of how the power of sport can change lives. It will serve as a bridge between generations, reminding everyone of the courage, unity, and spirit that defined Hangzhou 2022.”
“In years to come, this place will stand as a heritage of hope and inclusion, inspiring young people to dream bigger and pursue excellence through Para sport.”

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games were hailed as an exceptional success, setting new benchmarks in accessibility, organization, and athlete experience. A record 33 out of 44 National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) that participated in the six-day competition won medals – the highest number in the history of the Games.
The Games brought together 3,021 athletes from 44 countries and regions, competing across 22 sports in world-class venues throughout Hangzhou. It also marked the second time China has hosted the continental Para multi-sport event, following its inaugural edition in Guangzhou 2010.
Before his visit to the museum, in another important meeting, Mr. Rashed met with representatives from Alibaba Group and explored opportunities for collaboration to benefit Asian NPCs and support the development of the Asian Paralympic Committee.
