The China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee (HKPC) has officially launched the world’s first traditional Chinese version of the “I’mPOSSIBLE” Paralympic education programme toolkit at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, alongside a sharing session featuring Paralympic athletes.

The event attracted over 100 educators.

The launch was strongly supported by the HKSAR Government Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, with the Commissioner for Sports attending as Guest of Honour.

The toolkit is adapted from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC)’s “I’mPOSSIBLE” Education Programme. This marks the first-ever Traditional Chinese version globally, aiming to promote awareness of Para sports and the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality among students in Hong Kong.

The programme consists of two levels: a foundation level with 12 modules designed for primary schools, and an advanced level with 10 modules for secondary schools. Each level includes both classroom-based units and practical sport modules such as boccia, sitting volleyball and goalball.

The curriculum is designed with flexibility in mind. Each module can be delivered independently and integrated into different school subjects and activities, including sports days, inclusion weeks and athlete sharing sessions.

Jenny Fung SBS BBS JP, President of the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee, said: “We are grateful for the strong support from the HKSAR Government Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Education Bureau. This toolkit provides a structured way for

teachers to introduce Para sports and inclusive values to students.”

The Commissioner for Sports added, “We hope this toolkit will bring diverse sporting experiences into schools and communities and help foster a culture of inclusivity and equality through sport.”

Elaine Wu, Executive Director of the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee, gave an introduction on the key features and practical applications of the Traditional Chinese version of the “I’mPOSSIBLE” Paralympic Education Programme toolkit.

School principals from participating schools shared insights on how Para sports can foster inclusive education.

The event featured sharing sessions by Paralympic athletes, including medallists, who spoke about their journeys and experiences. Live demonstrations of Para sports such as boccia were also arranged, allowing participants to experience the uniqueness of Para sports firsthand.

HKPC will continue to collaborate with schools and the education sector to promote the “I’mPOSSIBLE” programme and advance inclusive education through sport.
