Dr. Behrouz Barjasteh, technical director of NPC, as an international senior classifier attended 7-a-side football intercontinental competitions (CP) in Barcelona, Spain.
“These competitions staged from July 27th to 10th of August with the participation of 16 countries including: Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, the Netherland, Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Japan, Venezuela, Australia, Portugal, Argentina, USA, and Canada. The classification process took place 4 days and then tournament officially lunched.” Dr. Barjesteh announced.
He revealed why our national team was not there, he added: “we scheduled to go to Barcelona, but this opportunity failed, since our financial sponsor could not meet our needs on time.”
“It was an opportunity to be qualified for 2015 World Championships to compensate this, we should attend Asian Para Games 2014 to benefit world ranking grounded on Paralympics to resolve the matter.”
The senior classifier then added about his presence in qualified round: “the level of competitions in comparison to last edition, was at the right mood but some teams were not at the appropriate preparation leading awesome results; teams such Russia, Brazil, Ukraine and Netherland push to win and form themselves with the strongest athletes; instead countries such Japan only emphasize on attendance of their Para-athletes in sports, although being there means to catch higher rank fighting and contestation were unavoidable.”
