Para football development in the region received a boost with the organisation of the National CP Soccer Championships (Premier Group), held from 4 to 12 August.
The event was supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and I.R. Iran Football Federation, and conducted in the Hamadan Province with Dr. Annathurai Ranganathan as AFC representative attending the opening ceremony.
In this event, new players were classified under the current rules and regulations while a seminar was held in conjunction with this competition with Dr. Behrouz Barjasteh delivering a presentation on the Paralympic Movement and classification procedures for CP soccer.
Dr. Zolfagharnasab one of the region’s experienced football coaches, also shared his experience in CP soccer while Dr. Annathurai Ranganathan touched on sport psychology and its application in professional sport.
