The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) have announced that the 5th APC General Assembly (GA) will take place in Dubai, UAE on 5 and 6 February 2019 and called for nominations for a number of positions on the APC Executive Board which will be elected at during the assembly.
Six Executive Board positions will be elected at the assembly; President, two Vice Presidents, Chair of the Women in Sport Committee and two Members at Large. All 43 National Paralympic Committee members are eligible to nominate candidates for the election with the closing date for nominations the 5 November 2018.
The remaining positions of the 15 strong Executive Board will be taken by a Vice President who is a representative of the Organising Committee of the next Asian Para Games, the Chairs of the APC’s six Standing Committees and sub-regional representatives.
The election for the Athletes’ Committee will take place during the Indonesia Asian Para Games and nominations for this are due by 6th September.
The process for sub-regional representatives is also underway and will conclude before the end of the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta. For these five executive Board positions, the NPCs in each sub-region will elect their representative from the following list of nominees:

The remaining Board positions will be filled by the Chairs of the remaining Standing Committees in a process which will commence after the General Assembly.
The Asian Paralympic Committee is a regional organisation recognised by the International Paralympic Committee as the sole representative of IPC members in the Asian region. This will be the first election following the adoption of revised constitution at the last GA in Bangkok in 2016, which increased the size of the Board. The current Board was elected in 2014. The term for the new Board will be four years with the next elections taking place following the 2022 Asian Para Games.
