Approximately 100 delegates including NPCs representatives, APC Board, World Academy of sports and experts from different International and regional organizations will come together for a three days gathering to share knowledge and experience from the fields of Para-sport, in order to shape the future of the Paralympic Movement in Asia region.
The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) in collaboration with NPC United Arab Emirates and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) will organize the first Gathering for the Asian NPCs from 9th to the 12th of May 2015 in Abu Dhabi.
On the agenda for the Gathering is a combination of keynotes, and workshop on the Potential and Future of Asia Paralympic Movement. Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) President Majid Al Rashed will give a keynote.
The aim of the Gathering is to sit together for an open and productive discussion and brainstorming in order to identify APC priorities and find the best and shortest pathways that meet the expectations and ambitions of the Athletes and develop the Para-Sports in Asia region.
Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) President Majid Al Rashed says that, “This Gathering is to share information and skills that could have the effect to advance our Para-Sports future”.
Rashed says, “It’s a brainstorming opportunity for the member nations, and to sit together around the same table in order to design the road map of the Paralympic movement and sports in Asia next decade including the strategic plan of the regional governing body”.
Rashed confirmed that, the 12th APC Board meeting will hold on the 12th after the conclusion of the gathering.
The 1st Asian Gathering will be held from 9th to 12th of May 2015 in Yas Viceroy Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
